Avi's done with a Vengeance Part III

Tuesday, 28th September 2004 by Thomas

Crappy headline, I know, but it's hard to come up with something new when all the news we're posting these days are about avi's... Anyways, we've released two avi versions of Fiend Run Lite, a recammed version, and a first person version. Go here for a full index over all our avi's.

Scourge done Slick .avi's

Sunday, 19th September 2004 by Thomas

You guys are simply too damned spoiled these days! Only two weeks after we posted the Speed Beyond Belief .avi's, we're ready with a high quality and a low quality .avi of our most ambitious project to date! We're talking about Scourge done Slick of course, originally released in July '98 and finally available in .avi format. You might argue that the run is a tad outdated, but the plot and the whole amount of work that went into this project, simply hasn't been topped yet. If you haven't seen Scourge done Slick before, then you're in for a big treat!

Speed Beyond Belief .avi's

Monday, 6th September 2004 by Thomas

Once again we come to the aid of those who hasn't got Quake installed (shame on you!) on their system. We recently released two .avi versions of Speed Beyond Belief lite II, a first person version, and a recammed version. You can also go to this page to download all the .avi's we've ever released, including the two new Beyond Belief movies.

Tuesday, 3rd August 2004 by Thomas

A new Quake done Quick project has seen the light of day. We've put together a team of runners who will try and see how much they can improve the legendary Quake done Quick with a Vengeance movie. It's a run through all of Quake on Nightmare skill. Go here for more info.

Half-Life done Quick!

Thursday, 29th April 2004 by Thomas

Not exactly Quake news, but still somewhat related. A guy named -think-circle- has completed all of Half-Life on hard skill in 55 minutes and 48 seconds! I won't bore you with all the details here, I'll just point you to the Speed Demos Archive where we're hosting the movie.

The movie comes in three versions:

Hi-res 640x480, 457 MB, Requires DivX codec.
Normal-res 320x240, 196 MB, Requires DivX codec.
Demo Files, 47 MB, requires Half-Life v1.1.2.0 installed.

Go HERE for all three files. Go fetch!

The team at Valve Software passed it around the office, they were very impressed! :-)

You can get a full list of available servers here.
You can join our channel directly if you have mIRC installed by clicking here.

Oh, and we also might have another project ready for release soon-ish! We just need to fix a few technical difficulties. So keep checking back here, or come talk to us on our IRC channel if you want the lastest insider information :-)

SDA Activities

Tuesday, 3rd August 2004 by Thomas

Hello people, Thomas Stubgaard from Speed Demos Archive here. I might get slaughtered for updating this site without permission from any of the "regular" updaters, but seeing as they have all either vanished or aren't online at the moment, I took the opportunity to do an update.

The thing is, I've moved most of the Quake done Quick projects to our sister site, that's Speed Demos Archive for those of you that didn't know. Actually, there's only one QdQ project still being kept here on this site, and that's the follow up movie to Quake done 100% Quick, currently entitled Quake done 100% Quick with a Vengeance... We couldn't think of a better title, sorry...

Anyways, you can access all the current projects by going to SDA, then look for "PROJECTS" in the main menu, and then select which project you want to check out. Or you could just use these direct links:

Quake done 100% Quick lite 2 - The follow up movie to Quake done 100% Quick lite, this one will kick serious ass!
Scourge done 100% Quick Lite - The first run through the #1 official Quake Mission Pack, getting all kills and secrets.
Quake done Chopped - Getting through all of Quake using only the AXE! We're getting all kills except Zombies too :-)
Dimension of the Gibbed - PROJECT FINISHED!

Oh, and we're soon having our annual speedrunning awards to celebrate all the madness through the year 2003. The event will be dubbed The Nolans2k3. We will announce a date for this event within a week or so, so keep checking back to SDA.

I think that's all from me for today, have fun.
