The Run From Memory (trfm) INTRODUCTION: The Run From Memory is a speedrun through "Quake From Memory" - a Quake map pack where mappers tried to recreate the full original game without looking at the maps. This project consists of the winning demos from a contest hosted by SDA/Quake Speedruns Explained in late 2025 (https://speeddemosarchive.com/quake/contests/quakefrommemory.html). INSTALLATION: Unzip trfm.zip into your Quake From Memory directory, and either start the game with '-game quakefrommemory' in the launch options, or using the in-game mods menu if available. If these steps have been followed correctly, you should now have access to the playback menu upon starting. WATCHING THE MOVIE: 'Play all of trfm' will continuously play all demos back-to-back. Opening one of the episode menus will allow you to watch the selected episode, or chose from a single level. The fastest demos were collected, and we took the stats (health, weapons, ammo, armour) from those runs to create a starting .CFG file for the next levels in each episode. For the next contest we then ran e1m2, e2m2, e3m2, e4m2 using the stats from the previous winners' demos. And so on for the following rounds. TIMING: As tradition with Quake SDA, the full-time is calculated by rounding down each level, with excluded intermission times and start maps.
