Today's the anniversary of our first proper release: the original 19:49 version of the refilmed Quake done Quick run. And just in time to celebrate...

Doom2 done Quick

...here's the release of Doom2 done Quick, a dQ run all the way through Doom2 in a time of 21:16. Yonatan Donner, who organised this project, has also implemented a rather apt new feature: refilming of Doom runs. So get Doom2 done Quick and for the first ever time, enjoy Doom2 speed-running from an external camera perspective.

There's a first version of Dm2Tool (intended to become the Quake2 equivalent of DemTool) on the downloads page, and there have also been minor changes to both DemTool and Demix.
In other news, a run through Beyond Belief on Skill 0, called Speed Beyond Belief Lite, has been released by Evan Wagner and Gunnar Andre Mo on Demo Editing News. It is significantly faster than our own Speed Beyond Belief run (which was on Nightmare skill).

Tweaks and improvements

Stefan has worked out what improvements have been made to our runs since their release, and we'll be keeping track of the fastest times from now on. In the process of adding it into the site, the organisation around here has been tweaked a tiny bit, and you can now review everything that is available here by reading the new site index.

Doom done Quick and tools released

Doom done Quick is a complete speedrun through all 4 episodes of The Ultimate Doom on Ultra-Violence, in a time rather close to that of the original QdQ run, 19:41. Also getting a public release is DdQStats, the Doom stats modification that was used to make Doom done Quick.
