Firstly a huge THANK you for including cheated marathons on the cheated page, i've been having fun making them anyway :)

Another thing to all you runners out there who like to compare your times on e1m1
why don't you compare your times for the ER of ep1?

I know its a lot more to ask but wouldn't you like to earn your rightful spot amongst the list below? (most of this was taken from the SDA marathons table, my time was recorded later but is acceptable for my site since its quicker than the cut off :)

But it seems some of you guys are a bit shy to send me a demo where you haven't beaten the record .. but go on, even if you beat Stefans old time :) (btw Stefan if you have improved send me the demo and i'll put you up the list a bit :)

I personally anyway would like to see where some of the other runners fit into this eg Jozsef, Amrik, Ken, various swedes and others, you know who you are :)

Episode 1 ER PLAYER NAME
#1 2:31 SERGI CAMI
#2 2:36 Markus Taipale
#3 2:44 Jordi Ros
#4 2:57 Ilkka Kurkela
#5 3:05 Chris Longden
#6 3:28 Peter Horvath
#7 3:56 Tim Doherty
#8 4:06 Stefan Schwoon
CUTOFF 5:02

On that list I'd be like #4. I can get faster than a 2:57, although I have nothing recorded.

DOn't trust that list, though.. it's way out of date. Do you think Peter couldn't beat 3:28? No way.. I think pretty much anyone with decent skills will get under 3 mins. My main problem is always e1m3, I hate that map, the grenade jump sometimes turns out to be a fuck up, and I'm reaaaaally bad at moving the zombies.. most times they wont behave. Other maps are truly easy.. I can get 24 in e1m1 pretty much whenever I want, and with the GA route in e1m2 I get like 34-35, e1m4 with GJ to silver key in around 26-27, e1m5 20-21, e1m6 about 12, e1m7 about 13 not being too risky. But if you still want a demo, I'll record something one of these days.. at least u have an idea of what I can do, if you were interested..

incase your wondering my times
31/40/70/30/24/15/23
and it would be nice to have a demo from you ken .. or an update by anyone else listed :)
i think i'll try again this after noon and get e1m1 under 30 at least :)
KenPosted - 20 March 2002 19:29 PST
Ok, you can add me to your list with a 2:59.17. See? I told ya any1 with decent skills could get under 3 mins.. altough that aint true, coz I suck. :P

Damn that e1m3 map! I got like a :47 here.. Didn't do the zombie trick (too hard, can only do it quickly once every several tries). The rest of the maps seem pretty normal, like I would run them usually. This would easily be in the 2:40's if I could run e1m3 like some people do (Markus actually had :34 in his old 2:36 marathon!! with that my time here would be 2:46!) And I've also NEVER done the e1m4 GJ to the bridge, never even tried... So the :25 I got there aint too cool. Oh, and I did e1m5 the long way.. getting RJ, heh, so got 22 or something (got stuck at a knight). Give me ur email so I make it a .dz and send.. I dunno how to compile it though.

my email addy to send those things to is hello_timo@yahoo.com and at the M4RJ page i recently added this .. http://www.100megsfree4.com/tim/misc.html it tells you how to compile in basic terms that most people should be able to follow, i wrote it so that if I read it before i knew what to do i'd be able to do it afterwards. Someone told me its a bit long winded but oh well :) look forward to seeing your demo Ken :)

KenPosted - 25 March 2002 19:15 PST
Ah, cheater! :P

Heh heh. QdQ projects don't include decimals, but SDA records do! So all your .9 demos and stuff, you better don't exclude them, or it'll be a lie. :)

timPosted - 25 March 2002 21:02 PST
even if he had .99 on all 7 levels he is still faster than you ken :)
are you going to reply to this challenge? :)

i plan on bringing my own time down soon :)

KenPosted - 26 March 2002 17:39 PST
Tim, it's not a challenge.

If you look at the marathon I sent ya, you'll see I'm faster in every single map except e1m3 (he was 3s faster?) and e1m4, where he was about 11 seconds faster. I did the goldkey route, which is damn slow. With the other route it seems to be easy to get 13-14 or so, but I've never even tried to place that grenade in there.. hah. Maybe one of these days i'll start practising, but what would be the point? To let u know my time? :P

If u put a 14 instead of a 25 in my one it'd be 2:48, WITH decimals.. and I did a bad e1m3 (47).. so the 259 aint really the fastest I can go. But marathons are hard, and as I said I never tried e1m4 so it'd be harder for me to get a low time like that. But I'll try sooner or later, no worries. :)

timPosted - 27 March 2002 2:13 PST
i'll look forward to it ken
after all the idea of the tables are to watch your PERSONAL times improve .. and hey, if you beat someone elses time in the process then thats good for you.

and maybe while trying a few records will fall? :)

SnooPPosted - 27 March 2002 3:40 PST
To please Ken: here are times with decimals included as to meet SDA timing conventions

e1m1: 25.81075
e1m2: 34.95029
e1m3: 44.31127
e1m4: 14.39114
e1m5: 23.18402
e1m6: 12.65363
e1m7: 13.11139

total time: 2:48.41252

KenPosted - 27 March 2002 11:37 PST
Sorry man, I didn't want you to look up all those times, now I feel guilty, I dont like to make people waste time.

I just thought the 2:48 was without decimals, but apparently it's WITH them.. good for you. :)

SnooPPosted - 28 March 2002 0:39 PST
Don't worry about wasting the best part of 30 secs, I don't mind correcting myself.
I plan to beat Sergi's marathon eventually. I just did some e1m1 times between 25.01 and 25.09.
