First contact to speedrunning (when, how etc.)?
One day in 2000 I happened to see OpenGL, who used to be my roomate, watching some ugly animation on his computer. I felt strange about his seeming attracted by that terrible "movie" and asked why, and he told me that it was a speedrunning demo of Quake1. That was probably my first contact to speedrunning.

Anything else you want to add here?
Though I have seen OpenGL playing quake for years, I have not entered the world of quake in my life until a couple of weeks ago, when he asked me to help him recording some speedrunning demos. I was not insterested in the idea at all, but since he was one of my best friends I promised to help him. In all of the demos, he planned the routes and did most of the difficult jobs, jumping, killing, trying to save every single second, while I just walked at ease and fired a little bit at those terrible looking monsters. Thanks to Karl Marx, the result of our cooperation turned out to be delightful, and OpenGL promised to find me a second-hand Creative SB live in the trash market in return of my effort on the demos, yeah~ | |
